It Must Be Genetic Pie

This is a pie recipe that I got from one of our cousins, which undoubtedly means that great pie making must be genetic. It was super easy to make and wonderfully delicious!

1 can Milnot (evaporated milk), divided
1 c. sugar
1 stick of butter
dash of salt
1/4 c. corn starch
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 egg

1. Make 1 Easy Peasy Pie Crust. Prick with fork and bake in 400F oven for about 10 minutes or until golden. Set aside.

2. Combine corn starch, 1/2 c. Milnot, vanilla and egg. Beat until well blended.
3. Heat 1-1/4 c. Milnot, 1 c. sugar, 1 stick of butter, and dash of salt in a saucepan.

4. Pour egg mixture into heated mixture on the stove.
5. Stir continuously until thickens.
6. Pour into waiting pie crust.
7. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
The Verdict
This was a very simple pie to make, and it tasted really good. It also came together fairly quickly especially since the filling did not need to bake. It has really good flavor, but you could certainly add some fresh berries or something to the top if you wanted to dress it up a little bit.
